KORS LOVES OUR PLANET

Our commitment to reducing our environmental impact takes many forms—from increasing the amount of lower-impact materials used to craft our products, to promoting circularity through our resale marketplace. We know there is more work to be done, but we are proud to share where we’re at on our sustainability journey.

LOWER-IMPACT MATERIALS

LOWER-IMPACT MATERIALS

CLIMATE ACTION

Climate change affects us all and we’re committed to doing our part to foster a more resilient planet. Not only are we working to reduce our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by operating our stores more efficiently, but we’re also increasing our investment in renewable energy across the globe. Here’s a look at our progress so far:

RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCING IS OUR GOAL AND WE ARE 70% OF THE WAY THERE

ABOVE FIGURES REFLECT MICHAEL KORS ACTIVITIES BETWEEN APRIL 3, 2022 AND APRIL 1, 2023. GHG EMISSIONS REDUCTIONS RELATE TO OUR 2019 BASELINE COVERING THE PERIOD BETWEEN APRIL 1, 2018 AND MARCH 30, 2019. WE MEASURE AND CALCULATE OUR GHG EMISSIONS USING A MARKET-BASED CALCULATION, ACCORDING TO THE WORLD RESOURCES INSTITUTE GREENHOUSE GAS PROTOCOL. RENEWABLE ENERGY INVESTMENTS INCLUDE SELF-GENERATED RENEWABLE ELECTRICITY AND PURCHASED ENERGY ATTRIBUTE CERTIFICATES.

CIRCULARITY

Often, what goes around, stays around. So we created a resale marketplace to help promote circularity, reduce waste and give pre-owned pieces a new beginning. On Michael Kors Pre-Loved, you can sell items you no longer use and find coveted styles from seasons past. And you can shop rescued Michael Kors products that have been expertly refurbished so they’re ready for a second life.

PACKAGING

PACKAGING

We know our customers care about sustainable packaging—and we do too. Our goal is to reduce the amount of packaging we use, increase the recycled content of those materials, and always prioritize options that are easily recyclable once you’re done with them. Today, 99% of our store packaging is recyclable or sustainably sourced. And the work continues.
